Today: His Language

“And when you pray, do not heap up empty
phrases as the Gentiles do, for they think
that they will be heard for their many words.”
Matthew 6:7

And this is the confidence that we have toward
him, that if we ask anything according to his
will he hears us. And if we know that he hears
us in whatever we ask, we know that we have
the requests that we have asked of him.
1 John 5:14-15

It seems like when people pray, they tend to
turn on their “prayer voice”. You know what I’m
talking about “oh dear heavenly father.. thou are
so holy”…  But God doesn’t care what you sound
like when you pray.

Just talk to Him.

Like talking to a friend, there’s no precise way
that you have to start or end a conversation with God either.
He wants to know how we really feel. So all of the
extra time and thought that goes into making our
prayer sound fancy, is more of a distraction than
anything else.

We need to learn to just talk to Him.

He wants to listen.
